Clinic software is mostly access control, not features

When a clinic says they need a “platform”, they usually mean three things: a schedule that does not double-book, a login that matches their role, and a way to stop front-desk staff from opening files they should not see.

That is what we spent the time on for NovaHealth. HIPAA-ready, in practice, is less of a badge and more of a list: roles, audit trails, and integrations that do not dump patient data into a shared inbox. The UI had to be calm enough that a busy clinic could use it at 8am without training slides.

Twelve locations came on in about three months. The interesting number is not the clinic count. It is how little of the work was “AI”. Most of it was boring, careful software — which is what healthcare actually pays for.
